SinCity 2014 Update #2 – RGBUZJ%SCZSHGARKF
I’m home!
Can’t say I’m thrilled to be here after two weeks at the Camelback in Phoenix and then Vegas and the Green Valley Ranch.
You know how you get home from a comp and your brain’s operating system is running overheated from sorting through a mass of newly uploaded data? Text, image, audio files zooming in and out of consciousness all day and in your sleep?
You don’t need sleep just because you haven’t slept since - whenever.
You need sleep because your brain is about to go Blue Screen of Death. And then you’ll have to buy a new one.
MY BRAIN THE DAY BEFORE LIBERTY:
MY BRAIN TODAY:- Ed Sheeran
- Kara Frenzel in short-short shorts and spike heels dancing 2′ in front of me – the most *&^* unbelievable mind-blowing *fastest* gorgeous balanced gracefulest wcs in the history of human civilization in Vegas. In shortshortshorts. And 4″heels.
- Lil’ Kim “How Many Licks”
- Ed Sheeran
- Gary McIntyre in the shadows on the platform behind Louis, doing the dorkiest, funniest Chippendales ever performed to “Go Girl” in the history of hum- never mind.
- Ed Sheeran
- Texts between two lifelong friends: (wow they speak this kind of language? But, but, they always seemed so “proper!”) “you’re my asshole ♥” “you’re my asshole too ♥♥♥”
- Ed Sheeran
- “Me And Mrs. Jones”
- Obedear
- Saturday night 3am looking out my window to see a brilliant full moon in a black, black sky – hanging there so close I could touch it,, smiling at me, right there atop the turrets of the west tower; palm trees, pool, great marble staircase, umbrellas, cabanas, everything waving and shimmering in silver light down below.
- “The Land Down Under”
- Shirtless Ryan Marchand and Melissa Rutz and my pictures totally blurred from laughing
- Ed Sheeran
- Louis – outside on the balcony speed-smoking during a 3-song-break – timing his puffs, tapping his foot, to gage precisely – to the second – where he is in each song.
- Emminem
- Ed Sheeran
- A bikini bottom sliding off at the wrong time.
- Sinatra, Sinatra, Sinatra. “Fly Me To The Moon” “That’s Life” “New York”
- Germans spitting-screaming deranged frenzy of joy as the the World Cup is announced. Christian Spengler’s inner Berserker.
- Ed Sheeran
- Mordecai Fayas Sunday morning, dazed and speechless, staring at the check he just got from the casino.
- “I’m playing 3-card poker, betting a $5 side bet where you combine your hand with the dealer’s bet. Both our hands result in a Royal Flush. But she pays me 200 to 1 odds rather than 1000 to 1. This was 4am. At 6am I go back to my room to sleep. But something’s nagging me about that hand. Seems like I should have been paid more. So I go back down to the pit and ask them to check the security tapes. Half hour later pit boss comes over and says “Yes it was a Royal Flush and we only paid you $1,000. You should have been paid $5,000.” And she proceeds to hand me a stack of chips for $4,000. Let’s just say I leaped for joy. All on a $5 side bet and because I had a nagging feeling!”
- Kyogo everything
- Hand-stands, back-flips, aerials in the pool.
- Ed Sheeran
- Melissa Rollins LEAPING from her lounge-chair, panicked, fleeing to her room because she saw she’d forgotten to shave her legs.
- “Not A Bad Thing”
- “Clubbed To Death”
- The Lobby Bar the lobby bar the lobby bar! Mackenzie with someone at the other end of her arm dancing right up against the bar stools and under the waittress’ tray of drinks stretching stretching stretching in some long-legged Mackenzie something way down close to the floor with dancers squeezing by on either side yelling laughing drinking hugging music music such great music! umbrellas sofas outside dancers on couches laughing planning trips to the strip buying drinks on Shay’s tab all night people floating in and out no ticketing no door fee Louis in his throne high in the dark watching the floor Pentatonix Morcheeba Lorde Pitbull Naughty Boy Arctic Monkeys Miley Usher Demi Jasmine Justin Pharrell Calvin Coldplay Sam Avicii Robin Nico Iggy and Ed Sheeran!
AUGHGHGHGHGHGHGH!!!!!!
So.
You want to know numbers type stuff, right?
Scores, attendance, blah blah blah all that stuff?
None of that seems to matter much for SinCity.
Nothing matters for SinCity except WOW IT WAS FUN! 100% Pure No Preservatives Added FUN!
But okay here are some factoids.
Nathan’s exactly exact precise numbers:
- SinCity “The First Year” 2012 - 120 total attendees
- SinCity 2013 - 270 total attendees
- SinCity 2014 – 427 total attendees

And … 14 people who bought Insurance.
Insurance? What’s insurance? Never heard of Insurance, right?
Yet another innovation from the SwingDiego/SinCity team (that’s Parker, Nathan, and Earl.)
Now you can buy your tickets a year in advance, making sure you get the discounted early-bird pricing. And – if you travel a lot – you know how nice it is to get one more logistics-detail taken care of, right?)
So now you don’t have to decide if you’re going to be able to make it to the event or not.
Because …
You can now purchase Insurance.
For $12!
And then, the event is there upon you, and if you find you can’t make it for any reason – you receive a 90% refund of your purchase price no questions asked.
So great! Why did it take so long for someone to come up with this idea
Oh, and scores!
Dan Krieger’s scores can be found here!
Tons – and I mean TONS – more to tell about SinCity.
And Phoenix!
And Liberty!
